Le Pan I TC
Le Pan I maybe has the oldest software version in this list (it runs Android 2.2 Froyo), but its hardware is decent enough to match with newer tablets. It actually has the same amount of memory as the iPad Mini and their processors have the same clock speed. Even the familiar 9.7” screen size of iPads is also brought in by the Le Pan I although it only has a resolution of 1024 x 768. The Le Pan I TC is fast; it boots up under 30 seconds, screen transitions are smooth and apps load quickly – the result of having an older operating system on a slightly modern machine. Overall, the Le Pan I TC is a good choice if your looking for your first Android tablet.
Specs:
| OS | Android 2.2 Froyo |
|---|---|
| CPU/RAM | 1 GHz Cortex A8/512MB |
| Display | 9.7" 1024×768 Capacitive |

Archos Arnova 9 G2
The 9.7” Archos Arnova is an Android tablet with a 4:3 ratio screen and a fast Cortex A8 processor. This tablet supports full HD video playback and can last 6+ hours. The Arnova runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread of which a large percentage of apps in the Google Play Store are made for. Besides the official Android apps, Archos also offers AppsLib, their own repository of slideshow and spreadsheet editors. This plus a responsive screen and good performance makes the Arnova 9 G2 suitable as a tablet for work. The Archos is quite heavy at 630g but that’s maybe because of its the extra USB and microSD ports which allows you to extend the storage beyond 4GB.

Vizio VTAB1008
The Vizio VTAB1008 is more of a multimedia entertainment tablet than anything else. Not only does it feature an 8” 1024 x 768 display, it also comes with a unique three-speaker stereo system. This special system allows the tablet to transfer sound to two of the three strategically placed speakers, maintaining stereo sound no matter what the tablet’s orientation is. The Vizio VTAB1008 can also act as an IR remote control for your appliances at home. The tablet only has 2 GB of usable internal memory but you can expand it via microSD card. But probably the greatest strength of this tablet is its battery life of up to 10 hours.
